New board member
Welcome on board, Rob Hadler
The Australian Rural Leadership Foundation is thrilled to welcome Rob Hadler to the board of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.
Rob is currently Coles’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, and has an extensive background in public policy, government relations and media.
A Melbourne boy who has lived and worked around Australia, Rob says his career path has taken him from the public service right through to corporate roles with a strong focus on agriculture and agribusiness.
Rob’s has worked for AWB, ANZ Bank and was Deputy Director of the National Farmers’ Federation.
It was during his time working with Goodman Fielder, that Rob was first exposed to the Foundation’s Australian Rural Leadership Program, as his company sponsored a scholarship for grains industry participant Brendan Stewart, of ARLP Course 6.
“From my work with the NFF and the sponsorship of an ARLP participant by Goodman Fielder while I was there, I have a strong understanding of the Foundation and its programs,” Mr Hadler says.
“What the Foundation offers has the ability to help emerging rural leaders to better understand the environment they live and work in.
“Programs here provide a much better and broader environment for honing the right skills, than the agri-political challenges that people may often leverage,” Mr Hadler says.
“There is still a huge gap between agriculture and the rest of the Australian community, and programs run by the Foundation are a good way to bridge this gap. This is increasingly more important for agriculture and rural Australia than ever before.”
Mr Hadler brings years of experience, a wealth of enthusiasm and a strong commitment to and connection with rural Australia as he joins the team at the Foundation.
