Foundation welcomes new Honorary Fellow
The Foundation was proud to present one of its founders, John B Fairfax AO with an Honorary Fellowship on Tuesday 10 February at the Foundation’s Canberra office in Deakin.
A humble and compassionate leader, John has supported the Foundation in developing leaders for a thriving rural, regional and remote Australia for over 20 years. John was a founding member, and has supported the organisation from day one.
His personal interest in the fortunes of the Foundation and its growing alumni hasn’t wavered over two decades. Most recently he attended the graduation of the 20th cohort of the Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) in Darwin in September last year.
Foundation Patron Major General the Honourable Michael Jeffery, presented Mr Fairfax with his Honorary Fellowship to a gathering including staff, Board members and friedns and alumni from the Foundation's Network.
In a separate ceremony on Wednesday 25 February Tim Fairfax AC and his wife Gina Fairfax will be honoured for their philanthropic investment in the Foundation’s work.
Since 2008, the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation has sponsored invaluable ‘untied’ scholarships for leaders from any background or industry to participate in the ARLP. They have also supported the Foundation through various donations for specific projects throughout the life of the organisation.
Tim Fairfax has also given generously of his time to the Foundation, voluntarily serving on the not for profit’s Board as a member and as Deputy Chair.
Members of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation Network and media are invited to join us in honouring Tim and Gina at University House in Acton, Canberra from 6pm to 7.30pm on 25 February.
