Leaders come together in Queensland
The inaugural Queensland ARLF Fellows Gathering was organised by ARLP Course 14's Barb Madden, and she reports the event was a warm and engaging day that brought an impressive array of graduates together. The calibre of speakers was high, enabling thought-provoking debate.
Friday 7th August, saw the very first Queensland Australian Rural Leadership Foundation Alumni gathering. Those who attended were fortunate enough to listen to five very high profile leaders, including Dame Quentin Bryce, David Crombie, Troy Setter, Andrea Staines and Euan Murdoch. The morning provided a wonderful opportunity for Fellows to not only listen, but actively participate in conversations and engage with these amazing speakers. We all lead such busy lives, and taking time out to invest in ourselves was a key message from the day, about driving successful lives.
The morning was especially lovely due to seeing Fellows attending from so many varying courses, all coming together, sharing the common life-changing bond of the ARLP, or experience on any of the unique ARLF programs. Selection into the ARLF programs is a tremendous gift that has been bestowed upon each and every Fellow, and this event enabled us all as graduates to take a moment to reconnect and reflect on this gift.
Barb is committed to holding this Qld ARLF Alumni gathering annually on the first Friday of Ekka.
