Support a very rural Christmas
Back in 2012, the Foundation set up a Christmas tree at the Grains Research and Development Corporation office in Canberra welcoming staff to purchase gifts to be sent to children in rural Australia.
It was reported back to the Foundation that by the time GRDC staff members returned from lunch, the tree was covered with gifts. It had only been up for one hour.
The toys, games and books were distributed to children living in the Tocumwal-Finlay area of New South Wales. These were distributed through St Mary’s Catholic Church and Centacare as recommended by Ted Hatty, who was sponsored by GRDC to participate in the ARLP, Course 15.
We now undertake this little proect each year, so that organisations that have supported the Foundation through the sponsorship of program participants can contribute to Christmas giving.
