What is TRAIL?
Training Rural Australians In Leadership is an eight-day cross-sector leadership program set in Canberra, the nation’s capital, for Australia’s future rural leaders.
If you are interested in learning how to be an effective leader in rural Australia, this program will give you key skills and insights you can apply immediately – as a leader and team member.
It focuses on:
- Facilitating strategic thinking
- Successful conversations
- Advocacy, influence and political processes
- Communication and presentation skills
- Effective and constructive collaboration
Who does TRAIL?
TRAIL is for emerging rural leaders who want to increase their foundational leadership knowledge, gain exposure to key role models and develop partnerships with peers for long-term networking and support.

Access to TRAIL
TRAIL is an open enrolment fee-for-service program. Some participants self-fund, while others obtain support from their industry or workplace.
The cost of TRAIL is $9,000 plus GST.
This includes all program content, delivery, meals, accommodation, equipment and on-course travel. Travel to and from Canberra is met by the participant. The program is held the ACT and regional NSW.
How does it work?
TRAIL helps participants develop a strong platform of skills, attributes and knowledge enabling emerging leaders to engage more effectively in their organisations, communities and industries.
